Hi David,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel – it’s nice to hear from you again. It sounds like you’ve got a fantastic evening planned! I’ll be celebrating my birthday at The Wave in a few short days, and I could not be more excited.
Guests with dining reservations at a resort where they are not staying may park there for up to three hours
while enjoying their meal. You would certainly be welcome to park at Disney’s Contemporary Resort during your meal, but you would want to move the vehicle before heading over to Magic Kingdom Park, since being towed would
not be magical.
My Dad has some mobility issues, so we have used a
disability parking permit all over the Walt Disney World Resort. If you have a valid permit, my recommendation is to park in the Magic Kingdom Park parking lot before dinner; the attendants can direct you to the designated parking area for Guests with disabilities. These spaces will be very close to the monorail entrance, and you can then head to Disney’s Contemporary Resort using Resort Monorail service. After dinner at The Wave, you can walk or use the monorail to head to Magic Kingdom Park.
David, I recommend contacting
Disability Services at (407) 560-2547 or speaking to a Cast Member at your resort hotel to see if there are other options that will make the travel time smooth for your party. I’ve been so impressed with the accommodations my Dad has received from caring Cast Members, and I hope you’ll have the same kind of experience.
Enjoy dinner and the dessert party! What a wonderful way to welcome a new year.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
