    DH and I have dinner reservations at Jiko at 6:20. Do you think we will have time to make it back to the Yacht Club (by car) and venture into Epcot to watch Illuminations at 9? Thanks, you guys are so helpful!!!!

    Love Jiku and the whole atmosphere when you dine at Animal Kingdom Lodge!

    I usually like to allow at least 90 minutes for a signature or character meal, sometimes longer if my husband and I are having a date night or celebrating a special occasion. I like to know that we have time to linger over dessert or after dinner coffee.

    If you aren't lingerers, you should have plenty of time. Even if you are, you probably can make it work. But, so that you don't feel rushed, I suggest you check in a half hour before your reservation. It's always good to be at least 15 minutes early, but you will have a better chance of being seated at or before 6:20 if you are there well ahead of your reservation. Plus, you will be arriving before the height of the dinner rush.

    Let your server know that you don't want to feel hurried, but you would like to be finished by 8 and ask him or her to help you pace your meal accordingly. You can always ask the server to slow down if it starts to feel too hectic.

    The drive from Animal Kingdom Lodge to Yacht Club shouldn't take you more than 15 minutes, but you want to allow time to walk to and from your car at each resort and to take the short walk to the International Gateway entrance of Epcot. Luckily, you don't have to venture too far inside Epcot to get a great view of IllumiNations. I like to watch from the area between United Kingdom and France, very close to the International Gateway entrance.
