Have dinner reservations at Contemporary evening. Can I park my car there and leave it while I walk over to MGK and return to beat the crowds?

Hello Eileen.  Thank you for your question.  When you arrive at Disney's Contemporary Resort prior to your dinner reservation,  you will check in with the Security Guard at the gate and give him your name and reservation number.  He will then issue you a parking pass which is good for 3 hours.  The reason they do this is because the parking lots are intended for guests staying at Disney's Contemporary Resort or dining in one of their restaurants.  Unfortunately it can not accommodate the vehicles of guests wishing to visit the Magic Kingdom - there just isn't enough space for everyone.  There have been reports of cars being towed for having "overstayed their welcome" - not a pleasant end to an otherwise fun evening!

My best advice to you, in order to be able to dine and then visit  the Magic Kingdom afterwards, is to park at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) and take the monorail to Disney's Contemporary Resort for your dinner.  After dinner you could catch the monorail over to the Magic Kingdom and at the end of your evening take the monorail back to the TTC where your car is parked.

I'm glad you asked this question as I'd hate for you to have any problems with your parking.  I hope you enjoy your dinner at Disney's Contemporary Resort -all of the restaurants there are so yummy- and I wish you a magical vacation!
