Hi there, Peter. Welcome to
planDisney. Thanks for stopping by to chit-chat with us about your upcoming
Walt Disney World vacation.
California Grill is such a great choice. It's one of my favorite special occasion places to dine at. I've spent birthdays, holidays and even just a girl's day dining at the top and it is fabulous.
To make a reservation for dinner at California Grill, you have a few options. You can head right on over to the official
California Grill webpage - which I've linked for you. On the right-hand side of the screen, you'll see the option to "Check Availability" and you'll want to select that. From there, you'll select the date you'd like to dine and your party size. If there is any availability, it will show you those times and then you can book it directly there. Another way you can make dinner reservations is by calling 407-WDW-DINE and having a Cast Member assist you with this. Phone lines open up each morning at 7:00 a.m. Mickey Mouse's time. I do suggest calling bright and early because the phone lines are pretty popular and you can see a bit of a wait time later in the day.
If you aren't able to secure a dining reservation for California Grill, Peter, you have one other option. There is a bar and lounge area inside the restaurant that operates on a first-come, first-serve basis. This is my go-to when I don't have a reservation but still would like a nice dinner. To sit in the lounge area, you'll go to the California Grill check-in desk on the second floor and speak with the Cast Member working. Sometimes you are able to go right up to the restaurant and other times there is a bit of a wait.
I hope you are able to secure a dining reservation for your upcoming vacation, Peter. If you have any other questions about this, or anything else, please feel free to
stop back by and ask me. I'm here to help.
Enjoy!
