Hi! We have dinner reservations at Cal. Grill at 5:20. Depending on when we are done we wanted to go over to MK before going back to see the fireworks. We will be driving to the Contemporary, can we leave the car there for a few hours?

Greetings, Karen! Thank you so much for returning to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I’m glad you’re hEAR, and I think you’re going to love your special dinner at the California Grill atop Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

If you are staying at another Walt Disney World Resort hotel, I’d advise you to take a bus to the Magic Kingdom depot and walk to the Contemporary via the pedestrian sidewalk. It connects the Resort to Magic Kingdom, so it should be easy to follow and take about 5-10 minutes of walking time.

If you are not staying on Walt Disney World Resort property, you can still drive to the Contemporary Resort and park for your dinner reservation, but you’ll only have about 3 hours of parking time allotted. After that time, you’ll need to move your car to the Magic Kingdom Parking lot and pay for parking. As a second off-property option, it may be less hassle to catch a ride straight to the Ticket and Transportation Center and ride the monorail to the Contemporary, or to the hotel itself. This will save you time and parking money, leaving you to catch a cab or ride-share to your final destination for the evening.

If you would like to share more specifics about your evening with me, I’d be very happy to help plan your vacation further. Have a magical vacation! ~ Lindsey P.
