Hi, there!
Welcome to planDisney, Leslie. I'm so excited to hear you're planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation! It's the very best kind if you ask me.
One of my favorite things to do on a Disney vacation is EAT. With
over 300 dining locations to choose from in
and out of the theme parks, there certainly are a lot of yummy options!
To answer your question, there's nothing special you need to do to make a dining reservation when you plan on
Park Hopping. A Theme Park Reservation is not required in order to make a dining reservation anywhere in the theme parks, so that has no bearing on your ability to book. (That said, you certainly
do need a Theme Park Reservation or the Park Hopper option for entry into the theme parks to
get to your dining reservation!) If you'd like to book a dining reservation for the second park you plan to visit that day, just be sure that you schedule your reservation after 2:00 PM. You won't be allowed entry into that second theme park with your Park Hopper option any sooner than that, even if you have a dining reservation. I would recommend trying to book a reservation after 3:00 PM. That extra hour will give you plenty of time to travel to the second theme park, get through the security screening and entrance, and walk to the dining location.
With just a week until your arrival, there is likely to be limited availability for dining reservations. If you aren't able to book the reservation you're hoping to, not to fret! I suggest checking the
online dining reservation system a few times a day between now and your arrival date. You never know when someone's canceled plans may mean new plans for you! If all else fails, check out
Mobile Dine Walk-Up Availability. With this feature on the
My Disney Experience mobile app, you can join the walk-up list at select Table-Service dining locations!
I hope this was helpful, Leslie. I'm wishing you a magical and merry visit to the
Walt Disney World Resort this holiday season!
