Hi Tanya, welcome to planDisney! You'll be delighted to hear that the Disneyland Resort offers a
few dining packages that are sure to add magic to your visit. Let's get into it!
At the Disneyland Resort, dining packages provide food and premium viewing of a parade or nighttime spectacular. If you are planning to have a sit-down meal at the park, these packages are a great way to enhance your visit, as you'll also secure a great spot to watch one of the shows.
Let me tell you about one of my favorite nighttime spectaculars,
Fantasmic! There's nothing quite like watching Mickey as the Sorcerer's Apprentice use the power of his imagination to save the day. I love the finale when Disney friends wave hello from aboard the Mark Twain Riverboat. Keep an eye out for the hidden Mickey just as the riverboat appears! For the best view of this wonderful show, I recommend a
Fantasmic Dining Package. You can choose to eat at one of the participating restaurants along the Rivers of America. Depending on when and where you choose, you'll either receive a voucher that can be redeemed at a separate location for a premium view of the show, or you may even be able to watch right from your seat!
Tanya, I have some exciting news: when you visit in June, the
Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration will be in full swing! You'll have a chance to see the
new happiness-themed World of Color show that will debut at California Adventure as part of the anniversary celebration. There is both a
Dining Package and a Dessert Party that come with premium seating for World of Color. I hope to make it to the
Dessert Party soon, as I've heard wonderful things from friends about it. Given the timing of your trip, this might be a really special experience if it's available.
You can explore the different dining packages on the
Dining Page of the Disneyland website. Or, on the Disneyland mobile app, tap the plus (+) sign at the bottom of the screen and then tap "Check Dining Availability" to see available packages as well as make reservations for sit-down dining options. I recommend to start checking availability 60 days out as reservation opportunities are released.
To be clear, the Disneyland Resort does not offer a dining plan similar to the
one at Walt Disney World Resort, which allows you to pre-pay for meals and snacks. But with the
Disneyland mobile app, you still have flexibility and convenience when it comes to mealtime. I highly suggest mobile ordering food from the quick service restaurants. From the home screen of the app, tap the plus (+) sign at the bottom of the screen then tap "Order Food." You can even schedule orders to be picked up later in the day. Some of my favorite dishes include the sesame-ginger vegetable noodles from Alien Pizza Planet and the Impossible cheeseburger from Smokejumpers Grill.
Tanya, I wish you a magical (and delicious!) visit to the Disneyland Resort. Please let us know if you have any other questions. We're happy to help!
