When dining used to be able to be reserved at 180 days, I was sent a notice telling me exactly what day that landed on. Will Disney be doing that with the 60 day window as well?

Hey there, Mike! Thanks for stopping by planDisney to chat about one of my favorite things - Disney dining!

The dining reservation system changed about a year and a half ago when Walt Disney World reopened after a temporary closure due to the pandemic. Now, Guests can make advanced dining reservations 60 days prior to their arrival date for the length of their stay up to 10 days. Mike, I haven't received any type of notification in my many trips to Walt Disney World recently reminding me of when my dining reservation day is supposed to be. I don't think that is a feature that has continued on.

It's easy to calculate on your own when that date will be though with the help of the internet. In your search bar simply type in "60 days prior to _________ 2022", and you'll insert the day of your check-in. If your check-in date is May 1, 2022, the day that you would be able to make advanced dining reservations is Wednesday, March 2, 2022.

You can start making your advanced dining reservations at 6:00 a.m. online or at 7:00 a.m. over the phone by calling 407-WDW-DINE. I do suggest setting that alarm for bright and early because sometimes some of the best spots do fill up really quickly.

If you are looking for a dinner suggestion, Mike, my go-to spot right now is The BOATHOUSE in Disney Springs. The restaurant is set right on the lake and provides stunning views as the sun goes down and Disney Springs starts to come alive with lights. There is something on the menu to please even the pickiest eaters. My favorite menu item is the lobster roll served warm with butter and I always upgrade to the truffle fries. It's amazing! If I am feeling splurgy and opt-in for dessert, I always choose the key lime pie in a jar. It's tart and sweet - everything you'd want in a key lime treat.

I hope this helps, Mike. If you have any other questions as you plan your Most Magical vacation, please do feel free to drop back by and ask me. I'm here to help!

    Enjoy!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
