Kim, welcome to planDisney. Thanks for swinging by with your question!
One of my favorite things to do when visiting
Walt Disney World is taking advantage of the incredible dining options, not just in the theme parks and
Disney Springs, but at the resorts as well. Some of the best meals and atmospheres on property live outside the parks, and Wilderness Lodge is a great example of that.
The short answer to your question is, yes, you absolutely can use
Disney transportation to travel between
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Magic Kingdom if you have a dining reservation there. Resort transportation is available to all Guests, not just those staying overnight at the hotel. The boat transportation between Wilderness Lodge and Magic Kingdom is especially convenient and one of the most relaxing rides on property. You can head to the dock at Magic Kingdom, take the boat over for your meal, and then return the same way when you are finished.
However, where things get a little more complicated is when you add in parking. Guests with dining reservations are allowed to park at
Disney Resorts Collection hotels, but that parking is time-limited and monitored, so parking, dining, and then heading to the park is not possible. On a recent visit to Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, I was given a time-restricted parking pass to display on my dashboard, since it’s not intended for extended theme park parking.
Because of that, my recommendation would be to park at the Transportation and Ticket Center if you are driving, take the monorail or ferry to Magic Kingdom, then hop on the boat to Wilderness Lodge for dinner. When your evening wraps up, you can take the boat back to Magic Kingdom and be right where your car is parked, making for a smooth end to the night.
I hope this helps point you in the right direction, Kim. If you want any Magic Kingdom snack or dining recommendations to round out your day, let me know. I never skip
Gaston’s Tavern Warm Cinnamon Roll or the Waffle with Sweet-and-Spicy Maple Chicken sandwich at
Sleepy Hollow, but I have plenty more where that came from.
See you real soon!
Brent
