Hi Bill,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It's nice to see you here again, and always a pleasure to help as you plan a magical vacation.
Doesn't
Takumi-Tei Restaurant sound incredible?
The concept art is just breathtaking, and I'm intrigued by the way the theming pays homage to art and nature. At this time, we know there are plans for the restaurant to open in summer 2019, but we haven't heard many details about the menu or reservations. Stay tuned to the
Disney Parks Blog, as they've been posting updates about the many new dining experiences around Walt Disney World Resort. You're coming at a great time, Bill, with so many new experiences popping up all around The Most Magical Place on Earth – so exciting!
As for your fireworks question, I've got some fantastic news – you'll be at Walt Disney World for the last show of
IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth, which closes September 30, 2019, and the debut of
Epcot Forever, which opens October 1, 2019. After a 20 year run, I'm sad to say goodbye to IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth, but can’t wait to see Epcot Forever, which is a tribute to Epcot's history and icons. You're so lucky that you'll be able to see both in one visit!
I've watched IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth from the Japan Pavilion, and I thought it was an excellent viewing spot. The great thing about Epcot's fireworks is that they can be viewed from anywhere around the World Showcase lagoon; since Epcot Forever hasn't opened yet, I can't advise on the best viewing locations, as things might be different with the addition of new technology – I can't wait to see the choreographed kites! I recommend talking to a Cast Member when you arrive at Epcot, as they will likely have a great recommendation for you.
Last but not least, let's talk about
The Lion King Limited-Time Dining Experience at Jiko – The Cooking Place. Beginning June 30, 2019, Guests dining at
Jiko – The Cooking Place will experience a special celebration of The Lion King's 25th anniversary. There's a 3-course prix fixe dining menu available, or Guests may order from Jiko's regular menu. The live entertainment consists of musicians performing melodies inspired by The Lion King's soundtrack as well as traditional African songs. Bill, this is a limited-time dining event, and at this time, there is no official end date, so it may not be available at the time of your visit. I recommend calling (407) WDW-DINE if you have questions about this or Takumi-Tei.
2019 is an amazing time to visit Walt Disney World, and I hope you enjoy all the new and special magic in the theme parks, resorts, and Disney Springs this autumn!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
