Are dining reservations really necessary? My partner and I making our first trip to WDW in January to run the marathon. I understand this is considered the off season.

Hello Geysa!  Reservations are strongly recommended when vacationing at Disney.  Reservations for the more popular times/restaurants can be filled quickly - even in the off season.  If there are reservations that are a must-do on your list, you may want to at least make those.  If you plan on walking up to other restaurants to check availability, you may want to have a back-up plan in mind so you are not disappointed.

Good luck with the marathon!  Diane
