I have dining reservations at 50s Prime Time Cafe and Sci-Fi Dine-In. As an adult, can I order my meal from the children's menu? They're lunch reservations and I don't like eating huge meals midday. Thanks for your help.

Hi Lisa, thanks so much for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. You made some great dining reservation choices! The Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant and 50's Prime Time Cafe are two of my favorite dining experiences in all of Walt Disney World.

I'll give you the bad news first and then offer up some alternatives. The bad news is that most Table-Service restaurants will not allow an adult to order off of the kids menu. I think that the kid's menu specifically states ages 9 and under only. I can see how disappointing this might be. Sometimes when it's hot out and you've been on the go all day it's hard to sit down and consume a big meal without feeling sluggish for the rest of the night. I learned the hard way by eating a huge dinner and then immediately riding Mission: SPACE, Team Orange.

You can always order a lighter meal or an appetizer off of the menu, or share an entree with someone in your group. The Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant has some amazing fried pickles on their appetizer list, and the chocolate hand-dipped milkshake is to die for. You also have the option to move the reservation to a later time and stop by a Quick Service location and pick up something for lunch. This way you are still getting something small for lunch and saving your appetite for a delicious Table-Service dinner.

I hope this helps, and if you have any more questions please feel free to stop by. We'd love to help in any way we can.

Have a magical Walt Disney World vacation.
