Hi Elizabeth, and welcome to planDisney!
If Grumpy, Happy, Dopey, Sneezy, Sleepy, Bashful, and Doc made a reservation for eight Guests at
Story Book Dining at Artist Point, but Snow White herself couldn’t make it, they would still be in luck. Elizabeth, let’s take a deeper look into making advance dining reservations at Walt Disney World Resort.
Sometimes when making advance dining reservations, you can find a table that seats more than what you’ll need. Of course, the best scenario is to book the reservation for the true number of Guests who will show up to the restaurant. This helps the restaurant staff to prepare for your arrival, and you are not taking up spots for other Guests who want to experience the restaurant at the same time that you do.
There will be no penalty if you arrive with a fewer number of people than what the reservation is made for. Just last weekend, my friends and I had an advance dining reservation for eight at Topolino’s Terrace—Flavors of the Riviera at
Disney’s Riviera Resort. However, we only had seven Guests who actually came to eat a delectable breakfast with Mickey Mouse and his friends. When we checked into the restaurant using the Mobile Check-In feature in the
My Disney Experience App, we simply adjusted the number from eight to seven.
If you need to cancel your advance dining reservation for any reason, be sure to do so online or My Disney Experience App before the free cancellation period is over. For most restaurants this window ends two hours before the reservation time. Of course, there are exceptions, so look at your reservation’s details.
AN EXTRA GEM: The Guest who made the advance dining reservation should be present at the time of the dining reservation, so make sure that the person that you’re sure is attending is the lead on the reservation.
I hope that you’ve found this information helpful, Elizabeth. If you have any other questions about your upcoming visit, please don’t hesitate to
give us a holler here at planDisney!
Magic always,
LeAndra
