Welcome to planDisney, Deborah!
Deborah, I'm so glad you dropped by with this very important question. Even when I'm not at the
Most Magical Place on Earth, you can bet a have a list of
restaurants handy to reserve for my next trip and it sounds like you are a pre-planner like me! Since the Walt Disney World Resort is in its phased reopening, there a few differences that will be important for your upcoming trip.
First, let's talk about the Fastpass+ system. Deborah, to better employ physical distancing,
the Fastpass+ system is on pause and we don't yet have a date when this system might be reinstated. Deborah, as a guest who utilized the Fastpass+ system on each and every trip, I don't mind telling you that I didn't know what to expect when I visited without this option. While it was different not having our three set attractions, an unexpected joy was experiencing the amazing queue lines we had never seen before. I was so delighted walking through
Peter Pan's Flight at Magic Kingdom Park and taking in all of the details, I felt like a first time visitor all over again.
Next, there have been a few modifications to advanced dining reservations as well. Currently you are able to make dining reservations
60 days in advance of your arrival through the length of your stay (
up to 10 days). Deborah, I will also encourage you to read all about the enhanced health and safety measures you'll find when dining
HERE, like
Mobile check-in for your Table Service reservations.
Finally, Deborah, make sure to
secure your Disney Park Pass reservations if you haven't yet done so. To better manage capacity at each of the parks, you are required to make a reservation in advance. This is easily done through your My Disney Experience account and since you're visiting in May, you're welcome to make those anytime.
Deborah, I hope this helps as you are planning ahead for your May vacation. Please come back and see us here at planDisney with any other questions you might have. We are all EARS.
