If I make dining reservations for 6, and we add a seventh, can we up the number, and if yes, can we do it the day of the reservation ? I know we need to work on this as soon as we know, but what if it’s last minute?

    Hi Margaret!

Making Walt Disney World dining reservations can be tricky if you're unsure of how many people you will have in your party, but if you think that 7 is a possibility, make your reservations for 7 in the beginning.  It is far easier to remove a Guest from your reservation than to add one, especially if it's last minute.

If you make your reservations for 6 and your 7th Guest ends up coming with you, you can click on your existing reservation on a computer or on the My Disney Experience mobile app and modify or change your reservation.  This will allow you to search for a table for 7 rather than for 6.  If one is found, you can choose to cancel your original reservation and replace it with a new table for 7.  If you can't find a table for 7, cancel out of your reservation and no changes will be made.

As a last resort, you can ask the host/hostess at the restaurant when you check-in if you can add an extra Guest.  I have done this several times when a friend or family member has decided to join us for the day unexpectedly.  In my experience, it hasn't been a problem, but it's not always guaranteed.

Please stop back by and visit if you have any additional vacation planning questions.

    Have a magical day!
