Hi Lindsay,
We are happy to see you dropping by planDisney for assistance!
How exciting to be in the midst of planning a trip to the Walt Disney World® Resort! You should be within your
advanced dining reservation booking window. We take dining reservations very seriously. Some locations are quite popular and can get booked prior to your visit, so I always stress that guests make advanced dining reservations. If you later decide to cancel a dining reservation, you can certainly do so, just double check the
cancellation process and possible charges.
Prior to making our dining reservations, I decide in which order we plan to visit the theme parks and we pick at least one day to relax at the resort. Then, we all sit down as a family and decide which dining locations we would like to experience. I then prioritize the ones that are the most popular so that when our dining reservation booking window opens, I try to make those dining reservations first. A few of our favorite restaurants include
Space 220 Lounge (lunch),
Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera (breakfast), and
'Ohana (dinner). We are also super excited about the grand reopening of
1900 Park Fare. Be sure to check out all of the
character dining options as well!
As you consider various restaurants, be sure to check the menus, especially if you want to get a sense of the prices. If you check the
lunch menu for Space 220 Lounge, for example, you can decide what you might select to eat when you arrive and you can estimate the costs. If we are not using a
Disney Dining Plan, prior to our trip, we create a cost estimate spreadsheet based on prices at each restaurant we plan to visit and then try to stay within that budget while there.
Lindsay, start making those dining reservations! Happy Planning!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
