Hello, Linda and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.
Do you remember when Belle nervously sat in the castle dining room as Lumiere sang,
"Beef ragout... Cheese souffle... Pie and pudding ~en flambe~ We'll prepare and serve with flair... a culinary cabaret?" It is with that level of gusto that I'm happy to have you "
Be Our Guest" and talk about dining around Walt Disney World!
Advance dining reservations are highly recommended, so I'm glad you're planning to pre-arrange some meals. You can begin making reservations
60 days in advance of your visit, at approximately 6:00 AM EST. Now, if you are staying at a Disney Resort Hotel, your 60-day window will count from your first check-in day and you can make reservations for your length of stay (up to 10 days). If you are hoping to book any
character dining experiences, I would encourage you to set your alarm, grab an early cup of coffee try to log into your
My Disney Experience account before 6:00 AM to increase your chances of securing those popular reservations. It may also be helpful to know that if you are an onsite hotel guest and are planning to book all of your reservations for your trip, they do not need to be made in chronological order. For example, I book character meals first followed by other in-park Table Service restaurants, and then any other Table Service restaurants located at
Disney Springs or at a Disney Resort Hotel.
Linda, if you are unsuccessful in booking any "must-have" reservations, my best advice is to keep trying. There have been times when all reservations were full on my 60-day mark and then I found availability in the days leading up to our trip. While I can't guarantee anything, perseverance often pays off.
No matter if you're planning to try the grey stuff
(it's delicious) or any other delectable dish, I'll be wishing on a star that you can savor every moment of your vacation. Please come on back to planDisney with any other questions that you might have.
Lauren
