We have a dining reservation for Tusker House Restaurant on 12/17 at 10:50AM. At this time of day, will the buffet consist of breakfast or lunch items?

Hi Krista! The last time we experienced Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House, we had an Advanced Dining Reservation (ADR) for breakfast at 10:30 a.m. We actually preferred the unhurried and less crowded atmosphere of our late breakfast ADR. We had our picture taken with Donald before going inside the restaurant. Then we had the opportunity of meeting-and-greeting Daisy, Mickey, and Goofy. The characters stopped by our table and the children participated in a delightful parade while everyone enjoyed a most delectable breakfast buffet. We had access to all-you-care-to-eat familiar breakfast items such as Mickey waffles, scrambled eggs, Carved Rotisserie Honey-glazed Ham, Spiced Corned Beef Hash, etc. Other offerings included unique African inspired dishes, such as the Beef Bobotie Quiche and Mealie Pap, a traditional porridge made from mielie meal (ground maize).

Donald's Dining Safari Lunch at Tusker House will be available starting December 4, 2011. Breakfast ADRs can be booked from 8:00 a.m. until 10:55 a.m., while lunch ADRs can be booked from 11:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Your 10:50 a.m. ADR at Tusker House is technically a breakfast reservation. However, since it happens to coincide with the time of the day when there will be a turn-over from the breakfast buffet to the lunch buffet, I would imagine you might have access to both breakfast and lunch items. In fact, I would say it's very likely that you will be able to experience some uniquely flavorful African inspired breakfast and lunch dishes at this dining location. Some lunch entrees that shouldn't be missed include the Cape Malay Curry Chicken and Seafood Stew with Tamarind BBQ sauce. Other favorites to try are the Tunisian Couscous Salad, Curried Basmati Rice, Blatjang Chutney and Mixed Dried Fruit Sambal.
