Hey there, Heather! Welcome back to planDisney – it’s nice to see you here again.
I consider a visit to
Disney’s BoardWalk a must during every visit to the Walt Disney World Resort. Whether it’s to eat a delicious breakfast or to enjoy a beautiful sunset and some nightlife, I just love the skies over Crescent Lake and all the yummy food options. There is nothing like enjoying a cup of coffee while taking in those views!
Parking at Walt Disney World resort hotels when visiting for a dining reservation is complimentary. However, due to limited parking capacity at the resorts within walking distance to theme parks, you are not permitted to leave your vehicle in a resort parking lot (unless you’re staying at that resort) while visiting the theme parks. Generally, Guests with dining reservations at a resort hotel are welcome to stay and shop or explore after their reservation, but within a window of a few hours. When you drive up to the security gate, a Cast Member will verify that you have a dining reservation. Since things are evolving as part of the
Walt Disney World Resort’s phased reopening, I recommend asking the Security Cast Member if you may leave your car or if it needs to be moved when you leave the resort.
If you’re
staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, a Cast Member at the front desk can help you determine the best transportation plan to make your breakfast and theme park plans work as smoothly as possible. Currently,
resort transportation options from the BoardWalk area to
EPCOT and
Disney’s Hollywood Studios include
Disney Skyliner, walking (this is a longer walk if you’re headed to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but I enjoy it after a good meal), or
Disney Bus Transportation. Be sure to read the
Disney Parks Blog for updates as your visit dates get closer, as transportation options are subject to change.
Enjoy your breakfast, Heather! I’m a huge fan of the Joffrey’s Press Pot coffee at
Trattoria al Forno. If you’ll have little ones with you (or if you just love glow cubes like your planDisney panelists do!), ask about the Specialty Character Drink. When I visited with my Mouseketeers a few years ago we collected two adorable glow cubes: an Ariel complete with her mermaid tail and a color-changing Pascal. Glow cube designs change all the time but they’re so fun to collect (and, pro-tip from my fellow panelist Kristen: plunk them into a bath for a disco bath time experience!).
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
