Hi! I have a dining reservation on 11/19/24 at Tony’s in magic kingdom at 6pm. The park hours that day are 9-6, and we don’t have tickets to the special event. Will I be able to keep this reservation? Thanks.

Hi there Ann Marie, I'm pleased to welcome you to planDisney!

It looks like you'll be visiting Magic Kingdom Park on a day when we've got Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party taking place later that evening, and since day guests are expected to be on their way when the theme park closes to them at 6:00 P.M. I also wondered what would happen to those whose dinners would otherwise clash and continue on during special event evenings. I took the opportunity to test this out myself this past week, and found many Cast Members across Magic Kingdom Park strictly enforcing policies about restricting access to shopping and dining to guests with wristbands who were attending Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

I paid a visit to Tony's Town Square Restaurant yesterday and asked what they would do with folks who had booked for 6:00 P.M. they let me know that they would still in fact allow guests with reservations at this time to still be seated and enjoy your meal despite the ongoing event that evening. They will however provide you with special wristbands that indicate that you're not attending Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party in order for Cast Members to easily identify you and your party to be escorted directly out of Magic Kingdom Park via the nearby exit once you have finished. (Since policies may always be subject to change without prior notice by the time of your visit, it's a good idea to pop by earlier in the day just to confirm whether this is still the case next month.)

From my observations, you might encounter Cast Members who are very firm about preventing guests from attempting to linger in Magic Kingdom Park and it'll be a good idea to head to Tony's Town Square Restaurant ahead of your 6:00 P.M. reservation. In my experience, visiting Magic Kingdom Park on one of these days can sometimes result in lower wait times for attractions as families avoid the reduced hours of operation for day guests so I hope you've got a great strategy in place so that you can enjoy the rides before settling in to some great Italian fare to feast on!

Here's hoping you'll be able to make the most of your day at the Most Magical Place on Earth!
