Hi Steven, welcome to planDisney!
While I'm picking weeds in my garden this weekend, you'll be making magical memories at Walt Disney World Resort. If Aladdin would let me borrow his magic carpet, I'd join you in a heartbeat. Alas,
The Magic Carpets of Aladdin are working overtime in Adventureland, so let's discuss the transportation options for your upcoming dining reservation.
Congrats on securing a coveted reservation for
Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White. Of all the character dining experiences on Disney property, this is one of my favorites because of the inventive food offerings, cozy-chic atmosphere, and unique character interactions. Most memorably, Dopey tried hiding from The Queen under the cape of my daughter's Snow White dress! There's also a photo in our Disney scrapbook of Grandpa and Grumpy with similar facial expressions. Priceless memories are served alongside
delicious food offerings like Royal Prime Rib Roast and the Fairy Tale Gooseberry Tart. Culinary Imagineers pulled out all the stops when creating the drink menu, as well.
As you mentioned, Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White is located at
Disney's Wilderness Lodge. Seeing Cinderella Castle and Disney's Wilderness Lodge's lobby in one day puts you in Rapunzel's "best day ever" territory. With a confirmed dining reservation, I have Cast Member confirmation that you should limit your time parked at Disney's Wilderness Lodge to the duration of your meal. I'd also include a time cushion for some exploration. Parking at Disney Resorts Collection hotels is limited and I recently had an experience where I was almost late to my lunch reservation at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa because I couldn't find a parking spot. To confirm your dining reservation, be prepared to scan your Disney band or give your name to the Cast Member at the resort's entrance.
Driving from Magic Kingdom Park, I would allow at least an hour to exit the park, take the
Express Monorail to the Transportation and Ticket Center to get your car, and make the short drive (less than five minutes) to Disney's Wilderness Lodge. Another option is to take complimentary bus or boat transportation from Magic Kingdom Park to Disney's Wilderness Lodge. Transportation runs until at least one hour after park close, which gives you plenty of time to get back to your car after your meal. You may even be able to squeeze in another Magic Kingdom Park attraction!
If you do decide to drive to Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Steven, I recommend arriving approximately 30-45 minutes before your dining reservation. You can check in 15 minutes before your reservation, which gives you some time to admire the lobby's grand fireplace, appreciate the unique art on display, and take a peek inside Wilderness Lodge Mercantile. After your meal, I encourage you to take an after-dinner stroll past the feature pool to Fire Rock Geyser. If you time it right, you may even catch the
Electrical Water Pageant.
Wishing you safe travels and a fairy-tale vacation, Steven. Hope to see you planning Disney at planDisney again soon!
Choose magic,
Jennifer
