If you have a dining reservation at a sit down restaurant for 10 people and 2 can't make it at the last minute do they charge your credit card 10.00 for each person that don't show up, or is this only for character restaurants?

Hi Joanne! This has been a big topic of discussion for the last few weeks down here at Walt Disney World since they started the new rule for charging for a no-show reservation.

I have had a few myself that were made and friends could not join us for various reasons. I simply told them when I checked in that it would now be 4 instead of 6 guests and we did not get charged and it was not an issue. Apparently you will not be charged unless there is a complete no-show for the reservation.

I suggest you do not try to adjust the number of the guests either. I attempted to do this as I wanted to let the restaurant know they didn't need that large of a table for me but it was almost a disaster. The dining call center people simply do not know how to adjust and it is likely they will cancel your reservation completely if they try. So just make sure part of your group is going to indeed use the time and show up and let the cast member at the podium know of the number change.

I'm hoping eventually we will be able to adjust numbers but at this time it is risky to even try!
