Hey there, Evelyn! Welcome back to planDisney! It's always a pleasure when our friends come back and see us with more great questions!
What a fun Walt Disney World adventure you have planned! I'm a big fan of park hopping, and it's even more fun when you have a tasty dining experience to look forward to. According to
Disney's current park hopping policy, your dining reservation doesn't guarantee entrance to the second theme park. That means it is possible that you may not be admitted if park hopping hours close due to capacity in that park. Disney recommends that you book dining and other experiences in the park where you hold a
Disney Park Pass reservation just to make sure you can make it.
Having said all that, my family has hopped for dinner reservations a couple of times since
Walt Disney World reopened last year, and we haven't had any issues. You're taking a chance, but in my opinion, it's a small chance. After park hopping opens at 2 p.m., Guests start leaving their original park and hopping to other ones, or take midday breaks back at their Resort hotel. So far, we haven't found afternoon capacity to be a big problem, but you should definitely be aware of Disney's official policy.
Evelyn, before you hop to your second park, take a look at your
My Disney Experience app. When you look under "Park Hours," you'll see "Park Hopper Hours" also listed for each theme park. If any of the parks reach capacity, those park hopper hours won't appear. You can also call (407) 560-5000 for a recorded update on the status of each park.
I hope this helps you make the most of your Disney day, Evelyn! Thanks for stopping by, and I hope we'll see ya again real soon!
Keep Disney Dreaming,
Kathy K.
