Hello, Nanci! Welcome to planDisney. I see that your vacation to the Most Magical Place on Earth is quickly approaching. I bet you are getting so excited!
Nanci, it is encouraged to make dining reservations at the theme park that you have
park pass reservations for that day because park pass reservations give you in and out privileges at that particular park all day. Technically, it is a possibility that the Walt Disney World Theme Park that you would be hopping over to for dinner could be at capacity for the day. A dining reservation does not guarantee you entry to another theme park. If you were to miss your dining reservation, there is a possibility that you could be charged the $10 per person no-show fee.
With that being said, Nanci, I have been
parking hopping this entire year and not once has another park turned me away. In fact, I've been keeping up with blogs and news articles about it and I don't think that it has happened to anyone and if it has it's not very frequent. Park hopping priveledges start at 2:00 p.m. and last the rest of the day. People come and go all day long and I've not experienced a problem with it. If it were me, I would go ahead and keep the dining reservation. If you are worried about it, maybe try park-hopping early in the day, like right around 2:00 p.m., before the theme park fills up again. But again, even that I don't think it totally necessary.
I hope this helps ease your mind about your dining reservation, Nanci. If you have any other questions before your trip, please feel free to stop back by and
ask me. I'm here to help! Have fun and happy hopping!
