It is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that I welcome you to planDisney! I'm thrilled you decided to be our guest, Margaret! Making dining reservations is one of my favorite things to do. It means my countdown to my trip to
Walt Disney World is getting close, and all my dreams are starting to turn into plans.
For your trip, you can make
advance dining reservations starting on Monday, November 17. Reservations open at 6:00 a.m. Eastern. I usually log in a few minutes early to make sure I am all set when the date of my trip turns from grey to black on the reservation calendar, indicating it's time.
You can make reservations on a web browser or the
My Disney Experience app. I usually try both at the same time to see which one is quicker. I believe the Disney systems work the same for both, but my experience suggests that the speed depends on the strength of the Wi-Fi for my laptop and the cellular service on my phone.
To make a reservation on a laptop, hover over "Things to Do" on the top navigation bar and select "
Make Reservations." You will be asked to provide the number of Guests, date or date range, time, and location or locations, such as Magic Kingdom Park or Magic Kingdom Nearby Resorts.
On the app, go to the main menu (the "≡" at the bottom of the screen) and select "Reserve Dining." You will follow the same steps and have the ability to use the same filters to find options that best align with your plans.
To make a reservation, you only need to provide the number of Guests. You will
automagically be the owner of the reservation and the only person who can see it in your plans. For everyone with you to see them in their plans, you can use the "Update Party" function on the app. Simply find the dining in "My Plans" on the app's main menu. Scroll across the top of the screen to find the date and then open the reservation. Click "Get Details" and then "Update Party" on the next screen. You can add anyone in your
Family & Friends list by checking the box next to their profile.
To do this on a web browser, open "
My Plans," scroll to find the reservation and select "Update Guests," which appears in blue. Your connected family and friends appear in a drop-down box.
You do not need to enter their addresses or any other information. And you can do this at any time; you don't need to do it on Monday morning when you are trying to get your dining reservations, especially if you're planning a few days of dining.
