Hi, Deborah!
Thank you for visiting
planDisney with your question about dining at the
Disneyland Resort. I hope you’re looking forward to vacationing at the Happiest Place on Earth!
The resort does require that you have a credit card on file to make a
dining reservation, but in most cases it is used only as a placeholder, meaning that you won’t be charged before you dine unless you miss your reservation entirely or don’t cancel within the restaurant’s allowed cancellation period. In my experience, small changes to your party size are not an issue and won’t result in an additional per-person charge as long as some of you still arrive on time to dine. If you’re unable to easily find a new reservation time for just two people, don’t cancel your original reservation. I recommend that you plan to arrive a bit early to check in at the dining location to explain the situation and inform a Cast Member that there will only be two of you. That way, the restaurant can plan accordingly and place you at an appropriately sized table.
I hope this information helps, Deborah. If you have more questions or concerns about your reservation, feel free to call Disney Dining at (714) 781-3463. Please visit
planDisney again as your vacation draws near!
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
