Welcome to planDisney, Alyssa!
Oh boy, what a great question! Planning and anticipating
a meal at Walt Disney World Resort is all part of the experience. But sometimes, plans change, and a friend or family member decides they can't miss out on the delicious fun. You've asked a great question, Alyssa. This is something I've navigated myself during a meal at
Kona Café at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, and there are helpful options to make things go as smoothly as possible.
If you have a dining reservation and one extra Guest would like to join you on the day of your meal, you may be able to add them at check-in. Most table-service restaurants will do their best to accommodate a slightly larger party, especially if you only need to add one Guest. You can try adjusting your party size in the
My Disney Experience app, or you can speak directly with the Cast Member at the host stand. You may have to wait slightly longer for a bigger table to become available. Just keep in mind that accommodation isn't guaranteed—it depends on table availability, restaurant layout, and how busy the location is at that time.
Here’s a tip: Arrive a little early and explain your situation. Cast Members truly work magic whenever they can. If the restaurant can't seat your entire group together, consider splitting into two smaller tables.
I hope that's helpful, Alyssa. Thanks for choosing to be our Guest.
Mike
