Good day, Destiny, and welcome to planDisney. I'm so glad you stopped by with your question!
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is one of my
very favorite Walt Disney World resorts. With its elegant vibes and sophisticated style, Disney's flagship resort feels like a real-life fairytale! Destiny, I'm so excited to hear that you're planning to explore the Grand Floridian on your upcoming trip. I've been making memories there since I was in pre-school, and I can't wait for you to experience the magic! You're off to a great start with your reservation at the
Grand Floridian Cafe, so let's make sure you're not late for this very important date!
Destiny, you'll have a few different options to get to the Grand Floridian for
your delicious breakfast. While the Cheshire Cat would tell you that "any road can take you there," I'm here to help you find your way, so you don't get lost like Alice!
As you already know, you can certainly take the monorail from the Ticket and Transportation Center. In my experience, the monorail generally begins running somewhere around 6:30 or 7:00 AM, so you should have plenty of time to make your way to the resort! You can also take the ferry to
Magic Kingdom Park, and then take the boat from the boat launch over to the Grand Floridian. Just follow the signage, and you'll be on your way in no time!
Finally, I'm happy to share that you can actually walk from the Ticket and Transportation Center to the Grand Floridian! Yes, it means a few extra steps on an already busy park day. But if you're up for the walk, I guarantee you'll enjoy the scenery along the way! At the Ticket and Transportation Center, find the walking path that leads to
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort (located just outside security). You'll find that you can walk through the resort, past the Island Tower, and straight on over to the Grand Floridian. Be sure to keep an eye out for Cinderella's Glass Coach as you pass by the Wedding Pavilion!
Bonus Tip: If you have time after your breakfast, be sure to spend some time in the Grand Floridian's iconic lobby, and maybe even do a bit of shopping! My favorite store, Basin White, is located on the second floor, and offers a variety of bath products that make
perfect souvenirs.
I hope this is helpful, Destiny, and that you enjoy the sophisticated elegance of Disney's Grand Floridian Resort! If you have any other planning questions, you know
where to find me right here at planDisney.
Dream big,
Allison
