how do i make a dining reservation

Hey there, Victoria! Welcome to planDisney! Your trip is coming up in less than two months, and you’re asking about one of my favorite questions—dining! As a true foodie at heart, I believe that planning your meals is one of the most fun and important parts of any visit to the Disneyland Resort. I'm so excited to help you get started!

The great news is that you’re already within the 60-day window to book your dining! Reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance, so now is the perfect time to start looking.

You can make dining reservations in a couple of easy ways. One way is to visit the dining reservations page on the Disneyland website. There, you can select a restaurant, enter your party size and desired date, and see all the available times. The other way, which is my personal favorite, is right in the Disneyland mobile app. From the app's home screen, just tap the plus sign (+) at the bottom and then choose "Check Dining Availability". From there, you'll follow the same simple steps to lock in your reservation. With so many delicious options at your fingertips, it’s easy to see why dining at the Disneyland Resort is an attraction in itself!

Here's an extra tip, Victoria: some restaurants are much more popular than others, and their reservations get booked very quickly! Since you're already within the 60-day window for your visit, you might notice that iconic spots like Blue Bayou Restaurant or Lamplight Lounge have limited availability. But don't give up hope if you don't get the reservation you want right away! My favorite tip for this is to use the mobile dine walk-up list in the Disneyland app. On the day of your visit, you can open the app and see if any table-service restaurants near you have availability to add your party to their walk-up list. You can also scan a QR code that’s located outside of some restaurants' entrances. It's not guaranteed, but I've been able to snag a last-minute table this way, and it feels like magic!

Since you're asking about dining, I'd love to share a few extra tips for enjoying all the delicious food at the Disneyland Resort. For the many wonderful dining locations that don't require reservations, you can use the Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering feature in the app to save time. Of course, if you like to be more spontaneous, you can always walk up to most quick-service spots and order at the counter as well.

The timing of your visit is also extra special because the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration is happening right now! To honor this milestone, the resort introduced more than 70 new specialty food and beverage items! I'd highly recommend taking a peek at the 70th Celebration Foodie Guide on the Disney Parks Blog to see all the tasty details. I recently tried the Celebration Matterhorn Macaroon, and while that classic treat never disappoints, this one was even more special because it was dipped in white chocolate and covered with festive sprinkles.

Victoria, I’m so excited for the culinary adventure that awaits you! Whether you're enjoying a carefully planned meal or discovering a new favorite treat on the go, I hope every single bite is full of magic!
