Hello, Marketa. Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.
Since the reopening of Walt Disney World last summer, the
Disney Dining Plan program has been currently suspended. You won't be able to purchase the Disney Dining Plan for your current vacation at this time. As of now, there has been no announcement on when the Disney Dining Plan might return to Walt Disney World. When that announcement is made, you will be able to find all of the details on the Disney Parks Blog. If the Disney Dining Plan becomes available before your vacation, you will be able to update your package to include this if you would like.
My family and I always enjoyed the Disney Dining Plan. It was so convenient to have all of your meals and snacks paid for ahead of time. It was also really fun to order the most expensive thing on the menu and not even think twice about it because it was all covered on the Disney Dining Plan. Until the Disney Dining Plan is offered again, I think the next best thing is to put money aside on a
Disney Gift Card to be used for food and drinks. It's kind of the same concept as the Disney Dining Plan where the money isn't really coming out of your pocket while your there. I suggest putting a little money aside each week until your vacation on a Disney Gift Card which is easy to load on the website. You can have up to $1000 on a single gift card so it's really easy to keep track of. You'll be able to pay for almost all dining locations and snack cards once you are there with your Disney Gift Card.
If you are looking for a dining suggestion for your trip in August, my current favorite is
The BOATHOUSE in Disney Springs. The restaurant is set on the water and offers stunning views of the sunset over Disney Springs. The menu has something for everyone but the seafood options are always my favorite. My current go-to order is the lobster roll served warm with butter and a side of truffle fries. It's absolutely delicious. If you have a sweet tooth the jarred key lime pie is the perfect way to finish off your meal. The service is always fantastic and we've always had a great time dining there. Another restaurant I am currently loving, also at Disney Springs is
Pizza Ponte. It's a quick-service dining location that serves up pizza by the slice. The menu rotates regularly but the flavor options are always incredible. The pizza slices are huge and it's actually really affordable at around $8.00 a slice.
I have my fingers crossed for you and me both that the Disney Dining Plan returns sooner rather than later to Walt Disney World. If you have any other questions before your trip, please feel free to
come back and ask. I'm happy to help!
