Hi Sandy,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I trust that your family will love the
Disney Dining Plans as much as my family does.
Both of your children should read as adults on a dining plan because of their ages. On a prior trip,
My Disney Experience Account had our 9-year old children listed incorrectly as adults but when I called and spoke to a cast member in Website Support, he confirmed that our reservation was accurate on his end. I suggest that you contact a cast member directly at 407-939-4357 or your travel agent (depending on how you booked your trip) to make sure that your vacation package is accurate.
You definitely want to make sure that your children are listed correctly as adults so that they can order off the adult menu. Although the children's options are great, the portion size is smaller. If you have not done so already, make advanced dining reservations prior to your visit. Restaurants get busy. On several occasions, we witnessed families walking up to table-service restaurants and requesting seating only to be told that there were no tables available for the entire evening.
Also, remember that your meals are calculated per night of stay. If you are staying for six nights using the Disney Dining Plan, each person in your party 3-years old and over would get one quick-service and one table-service meal entitlement and two snacks per night of stay along with a resort refillable mug. Our girls, who are also 11-years old, love going to the quick-service restaurant at the resort and refilling their mugs several times a day.
Sandy, I trust your family will have some fabulous dining experiences - 'Ohana for dinner is now our favorite family-style restaurant!
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
