    Is the dining plan worth it? We had younger kids last year when we went so didn't get the dining plan and at breakfast and lunch in our room and ate out at nicer places at night. What do you suggest? I just didn't know how much it would save ultimately.

    Hi Abby!  It is hard to say if the dining plan is worth it for your family or not.  However, I can share my personal experience with you.

    My family and I love the Disney Dining Plan.  We usually opt for the standard dining plan that consists of 1 snack, 1 counter service and 1 sit down meal per night you stay at a Walt Disney World Resort.  My family enjoys dining in the parks and we love the snack options (try a carrot cake cookie at the Writer's Stop at Hollywood Studios, it's delicious).  Dining at Walt Disney World is a highlight of our vacation, even for my 6 year old.  We typically try to maximize our dining credits by eating at nice dinners and even try to get the best bang for our buck at counter service locations.  We love the dining plan for many reasons but the main reason is we can eat at our favorite expensive restaurants and not have to worry about prices.  I can order the most expensive item on the menu if I like and not worry about it. The dining plan makes a Walt Disney World vacation even easier and more relaxed since everything is paid for ahead of time.   

    If you have the time to make dining reservation I would certainly recommend giving the Disney Dining Plan a try.  We enjoy it on all of our vacations and are amazed at the money we save.  One word of advice, come hungry.  The dining plan is a lot of food!

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
