Hi! We have the dining plan and are trying to pre-plan some of our snack credits. How do you determine what is a snack credit now via the app? I know how it works in person but figuring out in advance some of what is considered a snack credit is hard.

    Hi there Renee!

I’m so happy to hear you’ll be enjoying the Disney Dining Plan on your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation. My family loves using the plan, knowing that our meals and snacks are taken care of before we arrive at The Most Magical Place on Earth – now that’s magical!

Planning your snacks in advance is a fantastic idea, especially with so many tempting treats to choose from at Walt Disney World! While it’s easy to identify eligible snacks in person by looking for the Disney Dining Plan symbol, my advice is to use the My Disney Experience Mobile App to help you pre-plan before you go.

When you browse dining location menus on the My Disney Experience app, you won’t be able to see which items are eligible as snack credits just from the menu view. Instead, use the Mobile Ordering option for a “sneak peek”!

Go to the “Order Food” option on the app as if you’re placing a Mobile Order. This feature is available for many quick-service locations and snack spots around the parks. When you browse through the menu items available for Mobile Order, look for the words “Qualifies as a Snack.” This label will appear next to items that can be purchased using your dining plan snack credits. It’s a great way to see which items are eligible, even if you’re not planning to use Mobile Ordering at that moment. One tip to remember - you'll only be able to see these options during the regular operating hours for the dining location.

Many Disney-focused websites and blogs frequently update lists of snack credit options. I’m like you - I like to see a list of what’s available before I visit. I love to snack my way through the parks, and I need a snack map to follow! I especially enjoy reading all about the specialty snacks available during holidays and festivals. The “Eats” section of the Disney Parks Blog is a wonderful source of information and snack inspiration!

Once you arrive at Walt Disney World, if you’re ever unsure about whether an item qualifies as a snack credit, don’t hesitate to ask a Cast Member at the dining location. They can confirm which items are eligible and provide recommendations. Also, remember to keep an eye out for the purple and white Disney Dining Plan snack symbol on menus at quick-service locations and snack carts. This icon is the easiest way to identify snack credit options when you’re on the go.

Using these tips, you’ll be able to plan ahead and make the most of your snack credits! Whether it’s a Dole Whip, a Mickey pretzel, or a delicious pastry, there’s no shortage of magical treats to enjoy.

I hope you have a happy and snack-tastic Disney vacation!
