Is the dining plan truly worth the cost? I read on Mousesavers that you can expect to spend $30 a day on meals, but that was a conservative estimate. Seeing that the dining plan is over $40, I'm trying to justify it or gain more information.

    Hi Amber!

I do feel the Dining Plans are truly worth it! If you compare the total Dining Plan cost vs. what you would pay out of pocket for each meal, you do end up saving (Disney says about 20% savings on Quick Service, 30% on Standard Dining, and 40% on Deluxe).

One year, I held onto all my dining receipts and compared receipt cost (what I would have paid out of pocket) with what I actually paid total for the Plan (Deluxe at the time) and I did come out ahead.

There are some other perks such as the unlimited drink refills at the resort, etc.

It also gives a little peace of mind knowing your food costs are covered before you arrive rather than trying to budget it out each night (which I've done also :-)

Best wishes on all your Disney planning!
