Dining Plan question Can I use my dining plan credits to pay for a meal for somebody who is not in the same room as I am but part of our diner party?

    Hi Catherine,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question, my fellow Canadian!

The Disney Dining Plan is an incredibly convenient way to ensure that you and your travelling party enjoy all of the delicious treats and Disney dining experiences that are available to you during your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort.

The way that the Dining Plan works is that all of your room party’s entitlements (i.e. credits) are put into a dining “account” when you check in to your Disney Resort Hotel. You can then use them as you see fit, throughout your stay. If you choose to use some of your entitlements to pay for someone else who isn’t staying in your room, that’s perfectly fine, but please be aware that you might be short entitlements later on during your vacation so you may have to pay “out of pocket” for some of your meals.

Don’t forget that some Disney dining locations are extremely popular, such as Be Our Guest Restaurant at Magic Kingdom Park. The way to guarantee that you have a table is to try to make your Disney dining reservations as soon as possible, up to 180 days before you’re scheduled to check in to your Disney Resort Hotel.

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions!

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
