Dining plan or not? 1st trip Jan, dining plan offers convenience but is it really a deal? Many seem to cite probs with system, life revolving around food/reservations, cheaper to buy as you go?

    Hi Vicki!!!

You definitely voice some very valid questions/concerns about the Disney Dining Plan.  You are correct that you can feel like you are eating quite a bit at times.  I, personally, have never experienced any problems with the system.  I believe that these are very isolated issues.

The Dining Plan is definitely worth it if you want to experience restaurants that you have never been able to enjoy because they were out of your price range.  It may be cheaper to pay as you go, but then you are watching your wallet instead of fully enjoying the menu for what it is worth!

If you are hesitant to pay the price of the regular Disney Dining Plan, I would recommend purchasing the Quick Service Dining Plan.  You do not get that "I am eating the entire time" feeling with the Quick Service Plan.  I have purchased the Quick Service Plan multiple times and never regretted it.  I have also purchased the regular Disney Dining Plan a couple of times and fully enjoyed it because I was very strategic in where I dined and what I ordered!!!  If you can approach it with that thought process, I say go for it!!!

Please let me know if you have any additional questions!!

    Have a magical day!!
