Is the dining plan nessessary for a family staying at OKW resort? 4 in group (girls 19 & 21). We will eat br. there, everyone but spouse drinks water, 19 year old on WW so she will skip dessert (we can share if we are still hungry). Portions ARE large

    Hi Thea,

It sounds like you've answered your own question.  For my family, the dining plan is great!  It enables us to pay for most of our vacation ahead of time, and we feel free to enjoy more character meals than we would if we were not on the plan.

However, the dining plan is not the right option for every family.  It sounds like you would be better off paying out of pocket.   You won't feel compelled to overeat just to get your money's worth, and you'll be better able to support your daughter in her efforts.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
