Hi there Greg,
The Dining Plan can be very confusing for a lot of people (me included!). I did a lot of research on this subject before I tried it and that was a big help, I think by doing this I experienced the Dining Plan in the best possible way I could have. Specifically for Character Dining though, unless they have changed it since I was on it,
Cinderella's Royal Table (character dining) and
Mickey's Backyard Barbecue (classified as a Dinner Show with characters) are the only one's I know of which take 2 table service meals instead of one.
If you are interested in the "Princess Story Book Theme" for character dining experiences, may I recommend one for you? Of course Cinderella's Castle, but there is also "
1900 Park Fare" which is located in the Grand Floridian Resort (this one requires only 1 table service). I took my daughter to this one on our visit last August and I must say that I was extremely impressed! The food was so delicious (not to mention the desserts, which are plentiful!) and there were about 5 or 6 characters there including the Fairy Godmother, Perla, Suzy, Snow White, and a few others. I know the selections change from time to time, but I always hear that this particular character experience is well enjoyed. Please try and make your reservations well ahead of time if possible (up to 180 days prior to arrival) these dining experience fill up quickly!
Best Wishes,
Brigitta
