Can I use my dining plan and then use my Magic Band for gratuity, then pay off my balance at the hotel?

    Hi Heather!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Thank you for sending in this question and I am sure there are many Guests who will be wondering the same thing.  When you use your Disney Dining Plan to pay for your meals around Walt Disney World Resort (at the theme parks, the Disney Resort hotels and select locations at Disney Springs), there may be additional items that you add to your meal that are not included with your Disney Dining Plan.  This may simply be the gratuity, or an appetizer or extra side order, for example.   You may use your MagicBand to pay for any extras at any restaurant that accepts a dining plan, or you can use another payment method at the restaurant too.  Your hotel room charge balance may be settled at any time during your stay by visiting the Front Desk, and you can use any payment method you choose - debit/credit card, cash, or even Disney Gift Card.  You can request a printed balance of your account at any time, and you can also view this on your My Disney Experience account.

When using the Disney Dining Plan, a Quick-Service Meal includes 1 entree and a beverage (non-alcoholic, or alcoholic for Guests of age 21 and over); a Table-Service Meal includes 1 entree and a beverage (as above) for breakfast, or 1 entree, 1 dessert and a beverage for lunch or dinner.

Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions. We will be happy to help you plan your magical vacation to Walt Disney World Resort.
