We are on the dining plan and made a few reservations but this year we want to 'wing' it and decide where we want to eat on the fly. Is it possible to get into a table service restaurant without having a reservation?

    Hi Sandra!

Thank you for visiting us at Disney Parks Moms Panel!Once upon at time at Disney World, most table-service restaurants had walk-up availability if you didn't mind a wait. Those days are mostly long gone, with special offers such as Disney's Free Dining and Disney's Dining Plan had made it hard for any table-service restaurants to have walk-up availability. However, there are restaurants that will have walk up availability if you decide to try your Disney dining on the fly.

A good way to help with your walk-up availability, is to eat your meals at off times of the day. Most restaurants will have some walk-up availability if you choose your meal times at less popular times of the day. Also, you may want to try less popular dining locations. My husband and I have been able to snag last minute reservations or walk-up seating recently at Sci-Fi Dine-In, Via Napoli, several Downtown Disney restaurants and table-service restaurants located at a Disney resort (except for character meals).

If your not finding any walk-up availability, check with Guest Relations or your Disney resort's concierge sometimes they may be able to help find last minute dining reservations. With many restaurants now requiring a 24-hour cancellation with credit card guarantees, you may be able to find reservations where others have cancelled within the 24-hour time frame.Lastly try table-service restaurants that do not take reservations.Beaches and Cream at Disney's Beach Club and the ESPN Club at Disney's Boardwalk do not even take reservations so they are always taking walk-up diners.

Luckily, you are not visiting during a busier time of year and that will certainly help.Keep in mind that if Disney happens to release the Free Dining plan offer during your stay, most restaurants will be completely booked up.I hope this helps and please visit me again if you have anymore questions!

    Bon Appetit!
