We have a dining plan that includes the sit down service and I was wondering what is the best place to eat inside the Animal Kingdom for a family with children that have very simple (American) taste in food but at the same time getting the best value for

    Hi there, Chloebelle!

I love everything about Disney's Animal Kingdom Park, including all of the yummy food. However, I have a really picky family when it comes to flavors so I know just how difficult it can be to pick restaurants that are going to please everyone. You're in luck though because I think your family would love the character breakfast at Tusker House Restaurant. Since this is an all-you-care-to-enjoy meal and a character meet and greet, the value for your table service credit is great! On the buffet you'll find classics like Simba and Nala waffles, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, breakfast breads like cinnamon rolls and croissants, bacon and sausage, breakfast cereals, fresh fruits and many other traditional options. If your family is feeling adventurous they'll also be able to try dishes like banana bread pudding, breakfast frittatas, beef bobotie, hand carved meats, cheese blintzes and many other African inspired options. The food is delicious, the characters are great and the restaurant is themed beautifully. Tusker House Restaurant gets my vote every time.

If that doesn't interest you, another option would be Yak & Yeti. The menu here is heavily Asian influenced but they do offer options that would work for even the pickiest of eaters. While I've chosen dishes like ahi tuna nachos and pork belly ramen, my family has enjoyed options like Kobe beef burgers, BBQ ribs and teriyaki chicken. They even have an extensive kids menu with choices like mini corn dogs, cheeseburgers, mac and cheese and food of that variety.

I hope this helps narrow down your search! Whatever you end up choosing, I think you'll enjoy it. If I can help you with anything else, please come back and ask.

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
