Is the dining plan a good option for a family of four with two young children? (Ages 5 and 3) Or would we be better off just paying as we go since our kids won't eat very much? Thank you for your help!

    Bonnie:

What makes the Disney Dining Plan pay off for a family of four with two children is the number of Character Meals that you envision enjoying while on vacation. Even though your children may not eat anything from their buffets, the price is still the same to dine at a Character Meal. Just a few Character Meals can pay for themselves if you get the Basic Dining Plan with one table service credit, one quick-service credit and one snack per day of your vacation.

If you don't see yourself making reservations for the Character Meals to get the most out of the plan, then your gut is correct: skip the dining plan and just pay a la carte.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
