On the dining plan can we exchange a dessert item for a appetizer?

    Hi, Karen!

What? No dessert? But that's the best part! You have some great willpower to pass up a sweet treat to end your delicious meal while dining at Walt Disney World.

Most locations will offer a substitute for your dessert, most often a side salad, soup, or fruit. Ask your server before ordering what the substitution options are. Because each location has a unique menu, the options will change depending on where you dine. My little secret when I switch out my dessert: I have my husband keep his dessert option, then I get to sneak a few bites (Calories don't count if taking from someone else's plate, right?)

At the end of your meal, your Disney Dining Plan credits will be used for your meal, and your remaining credits will be listed at the bottom of your receipt. Keep an eye on your Snack credits and Quick Service credits to make sure you use them all before heading home on your last day.

Remember to make your Dining Reservations up to 180 days in advance. You can book your reservations online or by calling (407)WDW-DINE. Enjoy all the wonderful dining options during your magical Walt Disney World vacation.

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is sailing with Disney Cruise Line, running (or cheering!) at runDisney events, taking hula lessons at Aulani, or vacationing at the Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. I am proud to be a part of the planDisney team and cannot wait to share my tips and advice for a magical vacation
