    We will be on the dining plan during our trip.I am wondering if the Rainforest Cafe (in AK) is worth paying for out of pocket since it is not on the plan.We have a preschooler and 2 adults.

    Hi Heather,

    At some point during one of your vacations I would definitely suggest to pay "out of pocket" for this dining experience.  I have done this many times and I love the atmosphere...it is such a fun place for families to go and experience the feeling of dining in the amazon.  There are real salt water fish tanks that have some pretty incredible marine life to look at, frequent thunderstorms (inside....without getting wet of course!) and jungle animals that come to life while you are eating.  It is a bit pricey, I find but well worth the experience.  With all that said, I would not pay out of pocket for any meals while being on the Dining Plan.  I find that the Dining Plan offers more than enough meals (including snacks) for my family while on vacation and we go home not feeling like we have missed out on anything at all and we are certainly not hungry either.  An extra meal would be too much for us during this plan, but that is just my opinion (and an unnecessary cost I think) but you may feel differently.  Whatever you decide and whenever you decide to do it, I hope you enjoy Rainforest Café.
