We have the dining plan and 1 of our boys is 10 so he will get adult meals. At the sit down restaraunt if we wanted to save one of his meal tickets for use later, would they allow us to buy him a kids meal seperate from the plan?

Hello, Terri!  Welcome to the Moms Panel!

Glad to hear that you and your family are taking advantage of the Disney Dining Plan (DDP).  As far as I'm concerned, this is the best way to keep your food expenses in check.  I simply love suggesting the DDP to guests.  You cannot go wrong with any of the dining plans.

You are certainly more than welcome to pay for a meal aside from using your DDP.  There have been many times when a member of my family was not too hungry and was only looking for a small snack to enjoy. Instead of wasting a whole DDP meal, I simply paid out-of-pocket.  Cast Members will not have a problem with this as long as you let them know ahead of time.
