Will the Dining Plan be available in April 2022 when we visit?

Hi there, Sandra. Thanks for stopping by planDisney to chit-chat about one of my favorite things - Disney Dining.

Sandra, the Disney Dining Plan is such a fan favorite. The million-dollar question right now is when is it returning. However, here at planDisney, we are Guests just like you and aren't privy to behind-the-scenes knowledge like when the Disney Dining Plan may be making its comeback. The good news is that we do know for sure that it is coming back. A few months ago the Disney Parks Blog put out an article telling fans that they've heard the outcry of love and support for the Disney Dining Plan and that there are plans to bring it back. They just weren't yet sure of a return date to tell us. That's the last official update that we've gotten. I do think we will see the Disney Dining Plan return in the new year. More and more Walt Disney World restaurants are opening back up which is such a great step in the right direction. If the Disney Dining Plan comes back before your trip next April, Sandra, I'm certain you'll be able to add it on to your existing vacation package. If it looks similar to what it did before, you'll probably have up to 48 hours before your check-in date to decide if you'd like to add it on or not.

Until the Disney Dining Plan returns, I've been suggesting to start picking up Disney Gift Cards here and there before a vacation. I like to grab a small dollar amount each time I go grocery shopping. It doesn't add a lot to my bill but I am always amazed at how quickly they add up. Disney Gift Cards are similar to the Disney Dining Plan in the sense that they are paid for ahead of time and have to be used for something while you are on vacation. It's a great way to budget. If the Disney Dining Plan does indeed return before your trip, you can always take those Disney Gift Cards to help pay down the balance. It's a win-win!

I hope this helps, Sandra. If you have any other questions before your trip, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm happy to help.

    Have fun and enjoy!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
