We are dining with a party size of more then 6 some nights. How does the automatic 18% gratuity work, when your on separate dinning plans.

Hey there, Matthew! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. We’re happy you stopped by!

I absolutely love the convenience of pre-paying for most of my meals for my family’s Walt Disney World Resort vacation with Disney’s Dining Plans. As a big budget-conscious mama, I love being able to look at the menu, ignore the prices and order what looks good, knowing it’s taken care of!

Matthew, because gratuity is not included on your Dining Plan, you will receive a check at the end of your meal where you will be able to add your desired gratuity and pay for it or charge it to your room. The same will apply when you are dining with a larger group, except the 18 percent will be added to your bill. Simply alert the cast member that you are on the Dining Plan so they know to use your DDP credits, then when you get the check, you can settle the gratuity as you wish.

I hope you have a magical time enjoying many of the delectable dining options the Walt Disney World Resort offers. I hope you are planning on visiting the brand-new land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Pandora - The World of Avatar. You won’t need reservations to enjoy the delicious offerings at Satu’li Canteen, and I can’t recommend them enough. It’s my new favorite restaurant on property! Yum!

Bon appetit and see you real soon!
