Hi Don,
The Picnic in the Park, a pre-packed meal with sandwiches, sides, dessert and water, was offered for a few years at Animal Kingdom. My family used to take advantage of the offering frequently. I don't recall when it was discontinued, but it is no longer available.
The good news is that Animal Kingdom has increased its quick service food offerings recently with the addition of the
Harambe Market food court area. That has become my family's go-to quick meal venue. We usually grab a Grilled Vegetable Stack and an order of Karubi ribs to share among two or three of us for lunch at one of the market's picnic tables.
One of our other favorite new lunch spots at Animal Kingdom is the
Nomad Lounge at Tiffins. It isn't a quick service meal like Harambe Market, but it's nice to sit in the pretty surroundings inside or on the verandah and enjoy small plates such as wagyu beef sliders, honey-glazed pork ribs or fish tacos.
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Don. Please check in with us again if you need more dining tips or suggestions for planning other parts of your Walt Disney World vacation. We're happy to help. Enjoy!
