Are the dining packages worth it?

Hi there, Thurman! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I’m so glad you’re here to talk about one of my very favorite topics… dining at Walt Disney World! I truly feel that a very large part of any Disney vacation is planning all the wonderful things you will eat and drink! As family, we always make our Dining Reservations as soon as we are able, at 180 days prior to our arrival, and always make plans to try some new foods and snacks but also visit our regular favorite Restaurants that have helped us create memories throughout the years!

Our family loves the Disney Dining Plans, and we try to include them in our plans whenever we can! Whether the Dining Plans are a good choice for you and your travel party depends on a few different factors, in my opinion. For starters, if you use all the credits that you are given with your Plan, you will usually save money each day while on vacation, compared to purchasing those meals on your own. So from a monetary standpoint, there is a real benefit. Secondly, I truly feel that the Disney Dining Plans can and do encourage you to slow down and savor your time together, pun intended! With four options, including the new Disney Dining Plan Plus, you can choose from plans that include anywhere from 0-3 Table Service Meals per Day! There is truly an option for everyone! The Plans allow each person to make the choices that are right for them, and focus more on enjoying the experience, and less on cost. It is just an incredible way to make your vacation as carefree as possible, from the minute you arrive on property! You can add a dining plan to your reservation via your My Disney Experience account or by telephone up to 48 hours prior to the start of your vacation.

Thurman, I hope this information helps you have the best decision for you and your loved ones. When it comes to Dining at Walt Disney World, it truly is a part of the magic, and one that you should look forward to with as much excitement as any other part of your experience! Please do not hesitate to come back to see us in the future if we can be of any more assistance!

    See ya real soon!
