Hiya Raya! Welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you found us to ask these questions about celebrating Thanksgiving and a Mouseketeer's birthday!
How exciting that you have a big group vacationing together at
The Happiest Place on Earth! I really love visiting during the
Holidays and there's no better place to celebrate a birthday! There are many possibilities for dining on Thanksgiving. There might not be specific menu changes at dining locations for Thanksgiving, however, I would consider what type of food your group would prefer and enjoy when deciding where to dine. One recommendation I have is to dine at
Goofy's Kitchen at the
Disneyland Hotel. This is a buffet with a character experience and it will give you a variety of food options combined with the entertainment of characters for the little ones. Even better, it's all-you-care-to-enjoy so everyone can eat as much as they wish! If you are open to a nontraditional Thanksgiving meal and want to dine inside a theme park,
Wine Country Trattoria at
Disney California Adventure Park might be able to accommodate your larger party. You can also add a
Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake at this dining location to help celebrate the birthday! Your
advance dining reservation window opens on September 24th, so I would recommend making your dining reservations as soon as possible to get the best availability. You might have to enlist the help of someone in your travel party to make a reservation as well. If you spilt the party into two groups, you might have a better chance of getting a reservation and you can always request to be seated together once you arrive at the restaurant.
For other ways to celebrate the 6-year-old-to-be at the theme parks, I would make sure they get to ride attractions they are excited about, see their favorite characters, and enjoy some favorite treats! You can also pick up a complimentary birthday button at City Hall on
Main Street, U.S.A. in
Disneyland Park, or at Guest Services in Disney California Adventure Park.
